ITS Tagline Torneo/Liga – Ronda 2 – [ESP/ENG]

Pues bien, esta fue una victoria más para Corregidor… pero no para mi propio Corregidor.

Jugué la segunda ronda cometiendo el mismo error que la vez pasada: suponer que facción juega mi oponente. En un principio pensaba que Ana me enfrentaría con Nómadas o quizás Bakunin pero resultó que terminaron jugandome con mi misma carta. Dado que aún no tengo la pierna faltante de mi Gecko tuve que jugar solo con uno. 

No pude tomar fotos porque mi celular se quedó sin batería pero con eso pude notar que ya me empiezo a aprender todos los perfiles de las figuras de la facción lo cual es bueno porque me permite jugar mucho más rápido de lo habitual. 

Tras mucho deliberar me decanté por la lista en base al enlace de Jaguares pensando en aprovechar mi combo de humo con el Intruder y así lograr dañar la mayoría de las tropas enemigas:

La lista de mi contrario era un enlace de Wildcats (5), Gecko (2), Moran, Bandido, Remoto de Reacción Total y su Spec-Ops. Básicamente mi otra lista, cambiando un Gecko por un Intruder. La estrategia era sencilla, un jaguar con el francotirador para poder disparar a diestra y siniestra, y avanzar con el enlace de Jaguares y el Intruder cubriendo el avance del Gecko.

My opponent’s list was: Wildcat Fireteam (5), Gecko Fireteam (2), Moran, Bandit, Total Reaction Zond and Spec-Ops. Basically my other list just changing a Gecko with an Intruder. The strategy was very simple for me, playing with mi Sniper for killing everything I could, going forward with my Jaguars Link Team covering the Intruder and then going with the Gecko to the correspondant quadrant. 

La partida / The Match

Me tocó empezar segundo, traté de desplegar las tropas cubriéndome para no perder nada importante en el turno reactivo. Decidimos por dado y escogí ser Jugador A y al final eso me terminó afectando pues mi cuadrante no me quedaba cerca y el de Ana le quedó de maravilla.

I played second turn so I tried to deploy on cover for not losing anything at my reactive turn. By roll I choose to play as Player A and at the end when we roll for quadrants was so bad luck: my quadrant was on the other side and Ana’s quadrant was next to her where almost all her infantry was able to access. 

Las cosas no pintaban muy bien desde el principio. Como les comenté traté de desplegar de manera cautelosa pero no me di cuenta de una linea de visión y terminé perdiendo a mi Gecko en el primer turno. Por lo menos ya no podría ganar el punto adicional por el TAG. 

So, for the beginning, the sceneario didn’t look very well. As I already told you, I deployed very cautiously but I missed a damn spot that at the end made me lose my Gecko on her first turn. Goodbye to that extra point!

En mi turno cometí el error de exponer en demasía a Massacre y terminó cayendo inconsciente contra un Crazy Koala y perdiendo el equipo enlazado. Puff, error fatal. No me quedó de otra que tratar de acabar con cuantos pudiera con mi Intruder pero a pesar de que caían salvaban las tiradas de armadura y no caían muertos solo inconscientes para terminar siendo reanimados en el siguiente turno. 

On my turn, I made another error and Massacre got into the range of a Crazy Koala so good bye link team. There were no many options so I started to shoot with my Sniper to any enemy on my LoF but no matter how many I send to the unconscious zone, that damn Spec-Ops brought them a live on her next turn. 

Para la segunda ronda, mis jaguares resistieron heroicamente con el Gecko y logré colar a mi Bandido a mi cuadrante, algo que pude haber hecho en mi turno 1 y no me di cuenta por estar pensando en Hackear a los Geckos. Además me confundí pensando que la rotación era al final pero era al principio del turno y pues no pude hacer uso de mi especialista.

For the second round, my jaguars hold the position heroically against the Geckos and I reached my quadrant with one of my Bandits, something that I could done since my first turn but I was only thinking on hacking those TAGs. Also I got confused with the rule of rotation, I though it was at the end of the round not at the beginning. 

Para la tercera ronda sabía que era tratar de matar lo más posible y preferí arriesgar en vez de aguantarme y contar. Pude acabar con un Gecko, el Spec-Ops y un Wildcat pues el condenado Reacción Total logró pasar las tiradas de armadura.

For the third round I was like: ok, let’s kill everything I could so I tried risking instead of holding. I finished the Spec-Ops, the Gecko and one Wildcat, the damned Total Reaction passed it armour role!

Al final, el marcador fue brutal: 9-3 en mi contra y perdí en PV con 162 a 156. 

At the end, it was 9-3 and 162 against 156.

Reflexiones / Reflections

1.  Leer bien las misiones y tenerlas a la mano para poder ir corroborando lo que tengo que hacer.

1. Read well the missions and having them available for reading at any moment.

2. Verificar bien las líneas de tiro. Si el Gecko hubiese estado en otra posición, hubiese tenido más oportunidad.

2. Verifying the LoF. Just a little bit and my Gecko wouldn’t make “boom”.

3. La ruta directa no siempre es la misma directa. Este punto me da coraje porque leí una entrada pero lo vi tan factible que no me di cuenta del condenado Koala, de haber usado otra ruta quizás otra historia hubiese sido contada.

3. The main route is not always the best route. This point makes me mad! I just read a very good post about this and I didn’t examinate it very well.

4. Por último, criterio abierto. Debo de tener siempre en cuenta todas las posibilidades, de no haberme enfocado en la idea de querer intentar hackear a los Geckos quizás hubiese ganado un punto adicional de control de cuadrantes, además de haber salvado a un Jaguar en vez de lanzarme de loco hubiera ganado en PV lo que me hubiera dado dos PO más y a ella le hubiese quitado dos por lo que el marcador no hubiese sido tan abultado y esto me daría más chance de seguir en la pelea por los primeros lugares.

4. Last one, open mind. I must have always all the possibilities on mind or at least not being focus on one option only. If I didn’t being focus on hacking and also not risking Jaguars for killing the Gecko I would ended with more VP and I would gained another OP so the score would have ended on 7-5, giving just a little bit more of chance on the race for Scarface.

En fin, ahora conseguir el primer lugar ya no depende enteramente de mi lo cual lo veo como un fracaso pues siempre he dicho que cuando algo no depende totalmente de ti es que hiciste algo mal, claro en competiciones y cosas por el estilo. De todos modos, el objetivo sigue siendo ganar todas las partidas, no tengo mucho tiempo para jugar estos fines de semana pero trataré de entrenar en casa. 

Well, now the first player pole doesn’t depend on my actions anymore and that’s a failure, I have always said that when the result doesn’t depend on yourself you make something wrong, at least on competitions and tournaments of any kind. The objective still remains the same: win all the next matches. I have not a lot of time at the weekends for practice but I will train at my house.
